The founding of MDKN CPA was a deliberate decision. Our team had spent years inside Canada's top accounting firms — advising on complex tax structures, managing audit engagements, and counselling business owners through significant financial decisions. We had also worked inside the companies those firms serve — managing finance functions, reporting to boards, and making the operational decisions that accountants typically only advise on.
We saw both sides clearly: the depth of expertise that a major firm can bring, and the impersonality, the hand-offs, and the institutional inertia that too often come with it. We founded MDKN to deliver the former without the latter.
